  • 17 May 1916: Very much regret has been expressed in wool circles at the death in London on May 7 of Mr Edgar A Clough at the age of 61 years. The deceased gentleman founded in 1878 the well known firm of E A Clough and Co., and was one of the few survivors of the small group of buyers of that time. He was an Australian born son of John Henry Clough who with Richard Goldsbrough and Hastings Cunningham were the principal Melbourne selling brokers of the seventies.9
