  • 19 Oct 1907: Mr. Alfred Webster, a well known citizen, died early on the 11th October. Mr. Webster was the founder and general manager of the United Australian Fire Insurance Company, which, after existing for a quarter of a century, was absorbed a few years ago by the Colonial Mutual Fire Insurance Company. At the time of his death Mr. Webster was consul in Victoria for the Republic of Chili. He was 63 years of age, and leaves a widow and a family of five.6
