Todea Africana was the pseudonym of a correspondent to the South Bourke and Mornington Journal from December 1892 until 1897. He wrote weekly letters chronicling the events that happened in our little village. From those letters we can gain an insight into the life of the 1890s.

As yet 'Todea Africana' has not been identified, but I suspect that he was Thomas Cole Mackley. He was certainly an educated and well-travelled man. All his letters have been transcribed and, where possible linked to the people he has mentioned. Read them on his profile.
