    Mr. Thomas M.R.C.S., L.S.A., St. Faith's Mede, Christchurch-road, Winchester, who died on the 6th November last, aged 73 years, left estate the gross value of £69,871 4s. 9d., of which the net personalty has been sworn at £67,472 0s. 11d. Probate of his will, dated the 28th March last has been granted to his son Mr. Francis Courtenay Drake, of the India Office, Whitehall, S.W., and Mr. Fredk. Bowker, solicitor of Winchester. The testator left £200, his residence, St. Faith's Mede, and its contents to his daughter, May Elliot Drake, £100 to each of the executors of his will, and also to his nephew, Courtenay Henry Drake, if he shall act as trustee of the testator's daughter's fortune. He left £200 to his servant, Ann Day, if still in his service. The residue of his property he left as to one-third each his sons, William Elliot Drake, and Francis Courtney Drake, and one-third upon trust for his daughter, May Elliot Drake, and her issue.   • 19 Apr 1924: Death of Rev. J. T. Marriott - Thirty Years Dean of Bathurst
    The Rev. John Thomas Marriott, D.D. formerly for 30 years Dean of Bathurst, N.S.W., died on Tuesday at Bathurst Lodge, Newbury, at the age of 84. He was appointed headmaster of Andover Grammar School in 1867, graduated Ph.D. at the University of Giessen in 1871, and in the following year became headmaster of Wymondham Grammar School, being ordained in 1873 to the curacy of Edmondthorpe, Leicestershire, by the Bishop of Peterborough (Dr W.C. Magee). In 1880 he accepted an incumbency in New South Wales, and in 1882 began his long tenure of the Deanery of Bathurst, during which he received the honorary degree of D.D. from Trinity College, Toronto. He served under three Bishops of Bathurst, Dr. Marsden, Dr. Camidge, and Dr Long, and was for a considerable period examining chaplain to Bishop Camidge, and was elected Fellow of the Australian College of Theology. Returning to England in 1912, he held a general licence, first in the diocese of Exeter, and then in that of Chichester.5
