  • 30 Sep 1939: Best Man Faints At Wedding
MOE, Saturday.— A minute or two before the time when he should have presented the wedding ring to the Minister, Rev. J. Fraser Sutherland, at St. Andrew's Church at Moe. Mr Ivan Mills, who acted as best man at the marriage of a brother, Mr Laurence Alwyn Mills, to Miss Sheila Kerr, fainted.
A hurried search through his pockets had to be made so that the ceremony might be completed. The ring was found, and presented by the groomsman, Mr D. Huxley. No sooner had the best man fainted than his youngest brother, Walter, was also carried in a faint from the church. The best man recovered sufficiently to accompany the wedding party from the church to the Masonic Hall, where the reception was held.5
