  • 5 Oct 1949: MR. J. T. HISCOCK. AT THE grand age of 82 years, Mr. John Thomas Hiscock, of “Weeroona,” Beaconsfield, passed on at his home on September 27th. A native of Pyalong, he saw active service with the First A.I.F. Before he retired from active work he was a builder by trade. The condolence of district friends goes to his bereaved wife, five sons, William, Leslie, Albert, George and Vivian, and one daughter, Florrie, in the loss of a loving husband and father. After services by Rev. R. G. Mountney at the parlor and graveside, Mr. D. Ikin read the R.S.L. service and Mr. Alf. Foletta sounded “The Last Post.” W. J. Garnar and Sons conducted the funeral, which was to the Melbourne General Cemetery.8
