  • 5 Jan 1924: Former Police Superintendent Robert Kelsall died at his home in Armadale (V.) on December 26. Joining the police force in 1877, when he was aged 26 years, as a clerk in the office of the superintendent of the Ballarat district, Mr. Kelsall made rapid progress, and when he attained officer's rank he was transferred to Shepparton. Later as inspector he was sent to Fitzroy, and when he was promoted to the rank of superintendent ne was placed in charge of the Midland police district. He retired from active duty on April 20, 1911.10

  • 13 Nov 1907: Mr. Charles C. Lecky died suddenly on November 5. He had been connected with the Mutual Life Association for a number of years.6
  • 15 Nov 1907: Mr. Charles Crawford Lecky, who had been connected with the Mutual Life Association of Australasia for many years, died suddenly at his residence, Longueville, on Tuesday morning last, from peritonitis.   • 17 Nov 1917: Major Charles Stuart Lecky, D.S.O., was the recipient of many congratulations. He was in the head office of the Bank of New South Wales, when he left Sydney in April, 1915, with the Second Battalion, and was wounded three times during the Gallipoli campaign. June, 1916, found the young major in France. He was six months on the Somme, took part in the fierce fighting at Fromelles, and was wounded at Bullecourt. After spending four months in a hospital In England, the soldier-bank clerk was decorated by the King with the Distinguished Service Order at Aldershot.3
