    A BROTHER and sister were drowned in the Murray River at Speewa this afternoon.
    They were Patricia Anne Hausler, 11½, and Kerry John Hausler, 9, the only children of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hausler, of Speewa.
    The body of the girl was recovered a few minutes after she had disappeared in the water.
    Late tonight the Moulamein police were dragging for the body of the boy. The drownings occurred about 100 yards downstream from the Speewa pump. The parents were sitting on top of the bank, and the children were below out of sight fishing.
    Noticing that the children had become unusually quiet, Mr. Hausler investigated, and saw the body of the girl floating face downwards below the surface of the water.

    The children had been paddling out of sight of their parents Mr. and Mrs. C. Hausler, who were fishing.
    Mr. Hausler called the children to dress and accompany him home to milk. The children answered, but some minutes later were missing.
    When Mr. Hausler made a search he saw Patricia floating face down. He dived in, brought her ashore and applied artificial respiration. A Swan Hill doctor also attended to the girl, but she failed to respond.
