    Mr Geo. Brunt elected.
A poll was taken throughout the Beaconsfield Riding on Monday last to fill the vacancy in the council caused by the retirement of Cr. P. C. Anderson.
There were two candidates, namely, Mr George Brunt, of Officer, and Mr Henry W. Knight, of Gembrook.
A good deal of interest was taken in the contest and a total of 308 votes was polled, as against 259 at the last contest in the riding, in 1918, Mr Geo. Brunt being elected by a majority of 10 votes.
At the Beaconsfield, Pakenham, and Beaconsfield Upper booths nearly the whole of the votes went to Mr Brunt, and at the Gembrook, Cockatoo and Pakenham Upper booths most went to Mr Knight. The polling was as follows:—
