    Mrs Sarah Ferries, 62, of Howitt Street, Northcote, died at St. Vincent's Hospital last night from injuries received when she was run down by a car after it had collided with a truck in Smith street, Fitzroy. Both her legs and her ribs were fractured.
    Mrs Ferries was walking on the footpath when she was hit. The truck crashed into the side of an hotel on the corner of Johnston Street, and the car ran into the kerb.6
  • 15 Nov 1940, As a result of injuries received when knocked down by a motor car in Smith-street, Fitzroy, late on Wednesday, Mrs. Sarah Ferries, 62 years, Howitt-street, Northcote, died some hours later from her injuries in St. Vincent's Hospital.7
